Dosemate Privacy Policy

Dosemate (“we”, “us”, the “App”) is a shared medication-dose tracker for families. It helps the caregivers of one child keep a single, shared log of doses — for example a toddler’s laxative — so that everyone can see the last dose and nobody double-doses. This policy explains what information the App collects, how it is used, and who it is shared with. We have tried to keep it short and accurate.

The short version

Unlike a purely on-device tracker, Dosemate does sync a small amount of data through a backend so that multiple caregivers in the same household see the same dose log in real time. There are no ads, no data selling, and no third-party advertising or analytics trackers. We collect only what is needed to run the shared log, and it is visible only to the caregivers who share your household’s join code.

What we collect

To keep the shared dose log in sync, the App stores:

• Child identifier — the child’s first name or nickname that you enter. We do not ask for a full legal name, date of birth, address, or any other contact detail for the child.
• Caregiver display names — the name or nickname each caregiver chooses to show on entries.
• Medication details — the medication name and any schedule you set up (for example, dose amount, unit, and timing).
• Dose events — each logged dose: the amount, unit, time, which caregiver logged it, and any notes you add.
• Household join code — a short code used to link caregivers to the same child’s log.
• Anonymous authentication identifiers — a random device/account identifier used to sign you in. We do not collect an email address, password, phone number, or real-name account.

We do not collect your data for advertising, and the App contains no ads and no third-party advertising trackers.

Why we collect it

The sole purpose of collecting this data is to sync the shared dose log across the caregivers in one household so everyone can see when the last dose was given and avoid accidental double-dosing. We do not use it for profiling, marketing, or any unrelated purpose.

How your data is stored and processed

• Data is stored in a hosted database provided by Supabase, Inc. (https://supabase.com), which acts as our sub-processor for database hosting and anonymous authentication. Please review Supabase’s privacy practices for details on how they process data on our behalf.
• Data is transmitted between the App and the backend over an encrypted HTTPS connection.
• Access is scoped per household using row-level security: each household’s records can be read or written only by caregivers linked to that household’s join code.

Who can see your data

Your household’s data — the child’s first name, caregiver names, medication details, and dose events — is visible only to caregivers who have your household’s join code. It is not visible to other Dosemate users, and it is not shared with any third party except our hosting sub-processor named above, solely to operate the service.

We do not sell your personal data, we do not share it for advertising, and there is no third-party tracking or analytics.

Children’s data

Dosemate is a tool for the caregiving adult, not an app directed at or intended for use by children. The child’s first name and medication information are entered by the adult caregiver to coordinate care; children are not users of the App and we do not knowingly let children create accounts or enter their own information. If you believe a child has provided information to us directly, contact us at don@unswrc.com and we will remove it.

Your choices and rights

• You can edit or delete the entries, medications, and profiles you have created within the App.
• You can leave a household, which removes your access to that shared log.
• To delete a household’s data (including the child’s name, medications, and dose history) or to request a copy of what we hold, email don@unswrc.com and we will action your request.
• Deleting the App from your device removes it locally; to remove your data from the backend, leave or delete the household as described above, or contact us.

Medical disclaimer

Dosemate is an informational coordination tool, not a medical device, and is not a substitute for professional medical advice. It helps caregivers communicate about doses; it does not decide, recommend, or verify what is safe for your child. Always follow your clinician’s instructions and the medication’s label, and contact a healthcare professional or emergency services with any concern about your child’s medication.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the App evolves. Material changes will be reflected here with a new “Last updated” date.
