Goutly Privacy Policy

Goutly (“the app”) is a gout and purine tracker. It is designed to be private by default: your health logs stay on your device. This policy explains what the app does and does not do with your data.

Data we collect

None that identifies you. Goutly does not collect, store, or share any personal information. Specifically:

• No accounts and no sign-in.
• No analytics or tracking of any kind.
• No advertising and no ad networks.
• No third-party SDKs that collect data.
• Your uric-acid readings, food log, and flare diary are stored only on your device (via Apple’s on-device storage) and are never uploaded to us.

Food barcode scanning

When you use the optional barcode food scanner, the barcode you scan is sent to Open Food Facts (openfoodfacts.org), a free public food-product database, solely to look up that product’s name so Goutly can estimate its purine content. Only the barcode is sent — no personal information, and no data about you. If you never use the scanner, the app makes no network requests. Goutly is an informational tool, not a medical device, and not a substitute for professional medical advice. Purine values are approximate and for awareness only. Goutly does not use Apple HealthKit and does not read or write your Health data.

Children’s privacy

Goutly is intended for adults managing their own health and is not directed at children. It collects no personal data from anyone.
